Ah, ha ha ha ha ha! Ok, I think I've just about gotten... ha ha *cough*
I'm ok now ...gotten it out of my system.

So I'm about to bid on an Ebay auction for an old game on floppies. I
ask the seller if he "will agree to email me images of all the floppies
before shipping" in case one fails during transit (which I've had happen
only too often). That way I'll have a backup. I actually told him "I've
been burnt way to many times buying old games on floppy only to have
Install disk no. 4 be unreadable - you get the picture."

Instead he immediately sent me PHOTOS of each floppy disk. Close up
shots of each disk. *giggles madly* I just sent a reply to try and
explain what I meant, and I tried to be nice about it, but... Ha ha ha
ha... oh boy.

Regards,

<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.techtales.com/" target="_blank">http://www.techtales.com/</a> has hundreds of technical support stories
submitted mostly by tech support people, and the occasional tech support
victim. Looking through their archives there is more than one story
about a tech requesting a copy of a problematic disk and being sent a
photocopy!

P.S. if you wonder why Apple still sticks with a single-button mouse,
have a read through TechTales. Probably an average of once a month a
story arrives about a user who, when asked to right-click on their
desktop gets out a pen and writes "click" on the top of their desk.

Amusing a site as TechTales is - and sometimes it's amusing in ways not
intended - newbies aren't the justification for retaining the
single-button mouse as stock equipment.

And my favorite TechTale: The person who - told to install a new version
of the software on top of the old one - put two stacked CDs in the drive
tray.
