Entourage won't sync to Palm V

i just connected my old Palm V to my MAC which is opeating OS 10.2.6
with Entourage X. I followed the installation and setup instructions
on the web, but I can't get the Palm to sync. I moved all sync files
other than the entourage conduit from the active folder. It doesn't
appear that any type of connection is being made. I have an old
serial connection unit to which I added a Serial/USB converter. Any
thoughts?

Short answer:
Entourage stinks for Palm sync.

Long answer:
Play around with deleting various files and directories, rearrange your
whole addressbook/datebook in inconvenient ways, reinstall Office and
Desktop, and find that you still can't trust the sync 100%. 98%, sure,
but if that important meeting you miss is in the 2%, how good is that
Palm unit?

I really like Entourage, and I wish someone would prove me wrong, but
they haven't yet...
