Hello Group,

I have office Version x and have recently upgraded to V.2 and now I
need to have my CD key. After entering my CD key it tells me it is not
valid though it works fine on my origonal version. Can anyone help?

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

1st scenario: Your serial number is bad, and you had to contact MS for a new
CD key when you installed Office v.X the first time, and request a new CD
key.

2nd scenario: You are using a known pirated CD key, either willingly or by
accident (bought off ebay, etc), or you gave your CD key away to others ,who
in turn gave it away to others, and MS found out about it.

Cause: MS has included known pirated CD keys into the SR1 updater that
nullifies your ability to run Office v.X when it is being used by one of
these bad serial numbers.

Solution:
1st scenario: Contact MS again, and get another number. They will be happy
to provide you with a new number.

2nd scenario: Buy the real deal.
