Too bad the UK store doesn't have the refurbished product found in the US
store. You save $200 US buying refurbished as opposed to new. Same computer,
same 1 year warranty, and thoroughly checked out by Apple technicians.
Bargain!
I've bought my last four notebooks (three Mac, one Dell) through their
respective refurb outlets.
I'd keep looking thru the refurb site daily!

As an estimate, I would say that Apple puts out a new OS about once a year to
two years. Not sure what that has to do with whether you buy a laptop or not.
I have found new machines to be a better buy that picking up something used.
People just seem to want too much for a used machine. And with a new unit,
you get a warranty.
So I would say that the new MacBook is a good value. I wouldn't get the high
end machine unless you are planning on doing something like high end
PhotoShop that needs the fastest processor.

Then you'll be using either Parallels or Boot Camp to run that, since it's
Windows only.
May I suggest getting the MacBookPro instead? It holds more RAM, and has a
bigger hard drive.

I think so. The max RAM on the newer models (like this) is 4GB, which I
would recommend highly. Here's the online store I get mine from:
http://www.ramjet.com/mbib.asp
Apple charges 2X that for RAM.

How do you put more memory in a Mac laptop please? Do you just plug it
in somewhere or do you have to open the machine up?

In the MacBook, you remove the battery, and the instructions are printed
inside the opening; remove three screws holding on a cover plate, pop out
the old RAM, put in the new, then put the cover and battery back in place.

A week. (They are always developing different parts of what you use.)
Get over it.
There is no value in using something just because it is newest; you
want something that actually does what you want.
Don't buy because something is at the top of a list -- buy because it's
the right item for what you want.

You won't be using PSP; not available. But for image-editing, yes, you
will want at least more RAM, and faster processing is helpful if you
use large files.
It's simply a luxury if you don't use large files. >> Stay informed about: Possible new user alert! |

Yes, of course they do -- always have.
You could also have learned that by looking at any retail site,
checking a store, or (and this is really extreme) visiting their Web
site! ;) >> Stay informed about: Possible new user alert! |

Okey dokes! I don't know how big the files will be yet as I'm still a
