OK there's a fairly simple fix for that
(on windows - this is the Mac group BTW !)
If you go to the Start menu, choose Run then type in
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
Press enter key, and wait for confirmation to pop up.
Repeat that but this time type
regsvr32 jscript.dll
Press enter again and wait for confirmation to pop up.
If you're running Vista instead of XP the steps are similar, but
you'll need to run those commands as adminstrator - you should be able
to do that by pressing Shift and Ctrl keys when you press enter (and
you'll get the message 'this command is asking for permissions...)
After those steps, you should then be able to run the itunes and
quicktime installers without that error message.
HTH
